The splendor of life, light and color...

The simplicity of black and whites...

Our lives and the people in them are perennially shrouded in grays. Living at the edges of black and white - always complicated, always a little unclear, a little bit mysterious. Life leaves me puzzled and wondering.

But then photography come to my rescue because when it comes to images, the black and whites simplify life. Their ability to minimize the complications, to deconstruct and to highlight just the essential - is a wonderful respite.

I love black and white images for their sheer power, elegance and simplicity. And while I have left colors behind every now and then for people, cities and even landscapes, I never imagined shooting a brilliant fireworks display without color. But that's what I wanted to recently and somehow despite all the colored shots, its the black and whites that stayed closer to my heart.
